Job Description
Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a GSA Locksmith to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.
PURPOSE / SCOPE
The GSA Locksmith duties supporting the Diego Garcia program will include:
- Cut keys; lubricate, maintain, and repair cylinders; repair or reset combination or keypad locks.
- Gain access to spaces by picking or forcing locks in an emergency or when a key is lost.
- Maintain accurate records of lock and key installation and maintains lock cylinder system as designed to facilitate the use of master keys.
- Make modifications to the locking and master key system to meet the needs of the client.
- Responsible for maintaining and managing an inventory of all parts and equipment required for his/her area and for maintaining adequate security on sensitive items.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
The GSA Locksmith will be available onsite after the Government’s regular working hours as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have journeyman level and be registered as a bonded locksmith capable of providing total locksmith services including high security locks.
- GSA certified
- Three (3) years’ experience
- Computer and software skills, particularly in Microsoft Office products
- Previous experience in a similar role, highly preferable at a US military or US government installation preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role
- Ability to successfully pass PACOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
