As Senior Security Engineer, your responsibility is to ensure the data, devices, and systems are secure, resilient, and compliant. Your teammates are a global team of security engineers, software developers, and technical program managers dedicated to continuously raising the security bar.

Key job responsibilities

• Raise the security bar during secure design, architecture, and code reviews with your development customers.
• Become an expert consultant, advocate, and business-enabler for software development customers and stakeholders, educating on secure practices and collaborating on solutions.
• Create opportunities to improve developer velocity and program efficiency while maintaining our high security and privacy standards.
• Build solutions that automate Application Security functions; and processes improve the team's Application Security Operations.
• Collaborate with partners across Amazon to develop scalable solutions to security problems
• Act as a technical leader, educator, and mentor for less experienced Security Engineers.
• Period on-call responsibilities, and occasional travel as required.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of non-internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools experience
• 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience
• Experience working in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans
• Experience (non-internship) in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
