Automation engineer, Ops Engineering
This role involves designing and implementing controls architecture for automated material handling systems, programming PLCs, and leading projects from concept through commissioning. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance while driving continuous improvement in reliability, throughput, and safety.
Key job responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement controls architecture for automated material handling systems.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and industrial controllers for factory automation systems
- Lead controls engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure
- Develop and maintain controls documentation including electrical schematics, I/O lists, and programming standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, software developers, and operations to optimize system performance
- Troubleshoot complex automation systems and provide technical support to operations teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, throughput, and safety
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new automation equipment
- Ensure all controls systems comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements
