What Profiles Are We Recruiting, and for Whom?

To support the growth of our client in the aerospace/space sector, ALTEN Canada is recruiting several roles: Python Developers AND Test Software Developers whose roles will be to contribute to the reliability and performance of satellite systems by combining software development and test automation.

What Will My Responsibilities Be?

• Develop software interfaces to control and test satellites
• Design and maintain automated tools for validating embedded software (onboard computers, batteries, telecommunications, etc.)
• Participate in setting up Hardware-in-the-Loop testing environments
• Contribute to automation, CI/CD, and deployment activities (Docker, Ansible, Linux)
• Provide support, maintenance, and upgrades for existing tools
• Collaborate with AIT and Software teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions
• Work with complex software specifications and contribute to their improvement

I’m Convinced! What Skills Do I Need?

• 3 to 10 years of Python development experience (depending on seniority*we are recruiting for multiple positions)
• Experience with embedded systems and strong C++ knowledge
• Hands‑on experience with test automation and CI/CD environments
• Understanding of multithreading, APIs, and data sharing
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems
• Bilingualism (French/English required) (daily interactions with international technical teams; fluent level needed for meetings, technical documentation, and client collaboration)

Work Conditions:

• Location: Kirkland and/or Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue
• On-site presence: 3–4 days/week (Monday to Thursday)

Nice‑to‑have skills:

• Knowledge of DO-178, CCSDS, MIL-STD-1553, CANBus, SpaceWire standards
• Experience with instrument control and automated testing
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Git, Jenkins
• OIQ membership or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP/PMC)
