Job Description

Location: This role requires working onsite at our Burnaby, BC office four days per week, with one day per week working from home. (Hybrid)

Compensation: $65-75k CAD

About the Role

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to help create intuitive, user-friendly experiences across our healthcare platform. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to translate complex clinical and operational requirements into clear, efficient interfaces.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, is detail-oriented, and is motivated to design systems that support high-stakes, time-sensitive environments like healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interfaces for web-based healthcare applications
  • Translate complex clinical workflows and data into clear, intuitive user experiences
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and product insights
  • Apply and contribute to Aarista’s design system to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Advocate for usability, accessibility, and best practices across the product

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Experience in UI/UX or product design, with a portfolio demonstrating strong visual and problem-solving skills

Tools & Skills

  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools
  • Experience with prototyping and interaction design
  • Understanding of responsive design principles

Design Foundations

  • Strong grasp of user-centered design and usability principles
  • Attention to detail in layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
  • Ability to simplify complex systems and workflows
  • Ability to clearly present and explain design decisions
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and stakeholders
  • Open to feedback and continuous improvement

Bonus (Nice to Have)

  • Interest in or experience designing for healthcare, EHR systems, or data-heavy applications
  • Interest in or experience using AI tools to support design workflows, ideation, or prototyping
  • Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS)
