Tax Accountant / Bookkeeper (Part-Time → Full-Time Potential)

About the Role
Alpire Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Tax Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team in Falls Church, Virginia. We offer a friendly, professional, and collaborative work environment where employees play an important role in supporting daily business operations.
Reporting directly to the Business Administration Manager, this position supports a variety of accounting and administrative functions, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, invoicing, contract support, and general office administration.
This is a part-time, on-site position with the potential to transition into a full-time role. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and qualifications, and a flexible work schedule will be arranged.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare individual and/or business tax returns
- Perform bookkeeping and accounting support functions
- Manage invoices, payroll-related data, and financial records
- Assist with contracts and legal documentation
- Maintain accurate and organized business records
- Create, update, and format documents and spreadsheets
- Support general administrative and office operations
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism
QualificationsRequired
- Experience with tax preparation
- Experience using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
Preferred
- Experience with accounting/bookkeeping
- Experience supporting legal document functions
