Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Fintech Platform Engineer to design and manage the seamless flow of financial data across systems, ensuring synchronization between finance and treasury platforms through real-time and batch processing.

This role focuses on building scalable, event-driven architectures on Azure, developing high-performance Python-based data processing systems, and supporting mission-critical financial operations. The ideal candidate will combine strong backend engineering expertise with a deep understanding of data integrity, system reliability, and financial data workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Event-Driven Architecture & Development
• Design, build, and maintain scalable event-driven microservices using Azure Event Hubs, Event Grid, Service Bus, or Kafka.
• Implement asynchronous processing systems ensuring high availability and low latency.
• Manage message delivery patterns including idempotency, retries, and dead-letter queue handling.
• Backend Development & Data Processing
• Develop high-performance Python-based applications for real-time financial data processing and reconciliation.
• Build robust data pipelines for data lifecycle management and transformation.
• Write optimized SQL queries to support data validation and reporting.
• Integration & API Development
• Build and maintain APIs and batch-based integrations for legacy systems.
• Enable seamless data exchange between finance, treasury, and external systems.
• Ensure data consistency and integrity across multiple platforms.
• Cloud & Infrastructure (Azure)
• Work extensively with Azure services including Functions, Logic Apps, Event Hubs, Service Bus, and Storage (Blob/Data Lake).
• Implement schema governance using Azure Schema Registry.
• Collaborate with cloud and data teams to ensure scalable and resilient system design.
• Tooling & Rapid Development
• Develop internal tools and dashboards using Retool for monitoring, reconciliation, and operational support.
• Build admin interfaces for handling failed processes and manual interventions.
• Reconciliation & Issue Resolution
• Perform reconciliations and root-cause analysis for data and integration issues.
• Implement preventive fixes and maintain runbooks for recurring issues.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data across systems.
• DevOps & Deployment
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Work with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform.
• Utilize containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Change Management & Collaboration
• Gather requirements and deliver enhancements end-to-end (design, UAT, release, training).
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for system upgrades and releases.
• Ensure adherence to change management and governance processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

· 5–8 years of experience in backend development and distributed systems.

Strong expertise in

· Azure services (Functions, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Storage)

· Event-driven architecture and asynchronous systems

· Python (advanced level, including pandas) and SQL

· Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and cloud-native development.

· Strong understanding of data processing, reconciliation, and data lineage.

· Experience with ticketing and change management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Excellent communication skills to translate technical issues into business impact.

Nice to Have Skills

· Experience with Kafka or similar stream
