Bartender – Ālaya Café & Bar, Shillong

We are looking for a skilled, presentable, and service-oriented Bartender to join the opening team at Ālaya Café & Bar, Shillong.

Ālaya is a premium rooftop café and bar built around warmth, quality, atmosphere, and thoughtful hospitality. We are looking for someone who understands not just drinks, but guest experience, bar discipline, and the importance of maintaining high standards every day.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages to brand standard
• Maintain strong knowledge of the beverage menu, ingredients, garnishes, glassware, and service style
• Ensure bar setup, mise en place, cleanliness, and stock levels are maintained at all times
• Handle opening and closing bar duties responsibly
• Support smooth coordination with floor staff and management
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and proper storage of all bar products and equipment
• Monitor breakage, wastage, and portion control
• Deliver warm, polished, and professional guest interaction

Requirements

• Prior experience as a bartender in a quality restaurant, café, bar, or hospitality venue
• Good understanding of classic cocktails, bar basics, and beverage service
• Positive attitude, good grooming, and robust teamwork
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining calm and professionalism
• Strong sense of cleanliness, discipline, and responsibility
• Opening experience is a plus

Barista – Ālaya Café & Bar, Shillong

We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and guest-focused Barista to join the opening team at Ālaya Café & Bar, Shillong.

Ālaya is being built as a warm, design-led rooftop space where coffee, food, hospitality, and atmosphere come together beautifully. We are looking for someone who takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and creating a great café experience for every guest.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other café beverages to standard
• Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation in every cup served
• Handle daily coffee station setup, cleaning, and closing duties
• Monitor stock levels for coffee beans, milk, syrups, disposables, and other café supplies
• Keep espresso machine, grinders, tools, and work area clean and well maintained
• Understand menu offerings and guide guests when needed
• Coordinate smoothly with kitchen, service team, and management
• Maintain hygiene, discipline, and speed during service hours

Requirements

• Prior experience as a barista in a café, coffee bar, or hospitality venue
• Good knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and beverage preparation
• Strong focus on cleanliness, consistency, and detail
• Positive attitude, good communication, and professional grooming
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
• Genuine interest in coffee and guest experience
• Opening experience is a plus

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹25,876.19 per month
