DevSecOps Engineer

Our goal is to provide secure, scalable, and innovative service delivery that aligns technical execution with client mission priorities.</p> <p><strong>Overview</strong></p> <p>Akumen is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for secure software delivery, cloud automation, and continuous integration/continuous delivery operations on a federal program. This role integrates security into every phase of the software development lifecycle and leads implementation of DevSecOps best practices across development, operations, and platform teams.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.</li> <li>Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using infrastructure-as-code practices.</li> <li>Integrate security scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance checks into delivery workflows.</li> <li>Support patching, recovery, release management, and secure deployment activities.</li> <li>Provide technical leadership across DevSecOps processes, tools, and platform modernization initiatives</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or secure platform engineering.</li> <li>Hands-on experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines in cloud-hosted environments.</li> <li>Experience with infrastructure as code, automated security testing, and release management practices.</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise supporting multiple applications and complex technical environments.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree in a related field.</li> <li>Experience with AWS, Databricks, containerization, and platform automation.</li> <li>Experience with federal cybersecurity and compliance requirements.</li> <li>Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or comparable security/cloud certifications.</li> <li>Experience supporting machine learning, analytics, or data platform delivery environments.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Clearance Requirement</strong></p> <p>Must possess an <strong>active Secret security clearance or higher</strong>, or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher in accordance with contract requirements.</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em><span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Akumen, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
