Data Engineer

This role is responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, integration processes, and cloud-based data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and mission operations. The position supports enterprise data movement, transformation, and curation activities across multiple environments.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and integration.</li> <li>Support development of ETL/ELT workflows for data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms.</li> <li>Monitor and improve data quality, reliability, and performance across the data ecosystem.</li> <li>Support cloud-based deployment, automation, and sustainment of production data systems.</li> <li>Collaborate with architects, analysts, and developers to deliver data solutions aligned with mission needs.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or data integration.</li> <li>Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, or Scala.</li> <li>Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data environments.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience with data ingestion, transformation, curation, and pipeline troubleshooting.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree in a related field.</li> <li>Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS data services.</li> <li>Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or machine learning data environments.</li> <li>Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices.</li> <li>Relevant cloud or data engineering certifications.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Clearance Requirement</strong></p> <p>Must possess an <strong>active Secret security clearance or higher</strong>, or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher in accordance with contract requirements.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em><span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Akumen, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
