IT Systems Administrator (Hybrid, Microsoft 365, Defender, Automation & Virtualization)

Role Summary

We are seeking a IT Systems Administrator to support day-to-day operations across our hybrid IT environment. In this operational role, you will help keep systems stable, secure, and well-documented by handling routine administration tasks, monitoring, user support escalations, and standard changes. You will also develop and contribute to process automation using Power Automate.

You will support Microsoft 365, assist with Microsoft Defender security operations, and help maintain virtualization platforms and server infrastructure.

1. Power Automate (Operational Automation) (2+ years of experience)

· Create maintain and monitor Power Automate flows (run failures, connection issues, ownership, and basic fixes).

· Build flows to support business operations (notifications, approvals, recurring reminders, standardized onboarding tasks).

· Ensure flows follow governance standards (naming, documentation, secure connectors, least privilege).

· Create short documentation for each flow: purpose, owners, triggers, error handling, and support steps.

2. Microsoft 365 Administration (1+ years of experience)

· Perform day-to-day administration in Microsoft 365

· Support hybrid identity operations (e.g., on-prem AD + Entra ID, directory sync health checks, account lifecycle tasks).

· Handle standard requests and incidents via ticketing system.

· Monitor Microsoft 365 service health and respond to operational alerts and user-impacting incidents.

3. Hypervisor and Server Administration (2+ years of experience)

Assist in administering VMware and Hyper-V environments:

• Provision VMs using templates.
• Update VM resources based on requests (CPU/RAM/disk) following change procedures.
• Support snapshot handling, VM tools updates, and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor virtualization health (host status, datastore capacity, performance indicators).

· Perform routine administration for Windows Server (and Linux if applicable):

• Patching support and verification
• Service checks (e.g., AD DS/DNS/DHCP/file services)
• Basic troubleshooting (event logs, service restarts, resource utilization)

· Help maintain backups (job checks, restore test assistance) and update recovery documentation.

4. Microsoft Defender (1+ years of experience)

Support daily security operations using Microsoft Defender tools (e.g., reviewing alerts, basic triage, and escalation).

Assist with routine tasks such as:

• Checking endpoint onboarding status and device compliance signals
• Reviewing suspicious email/quarantine items (if Defender for Office 365 is in scope)
• Helping maintain baseline security settings under supervision
