Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our client, a federal agency, requiring a blend of expertise in cloud computing and system administration. The successful candidate will be instrumental in deploying, managing, and optimizing Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 applications to meet the agency's requirements. This role demands a commitment to excellence, innovation, and security, aiming to enhance operational efficiencies and facilitate the digital transformation of the agency.

This opportunity is for a hybrid role, with a mandate to visit the client's site in Washington, D.C., once a week, providing a unique blend of remote and on-site work that ensures close collaboration and alignment with the program goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage solutions within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Administer and support the Microsoft 365 suite, including but not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Work closely with IT security teams to implement and maintain security best practices across Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, ensuring compliance with federal security standards and policies.
  • Provide technical support in cloud architecture and deployment strategies, contributing to the development of innovative solutions to meet agency requirements.
  • Conduct regular system audits, performance monitoring, and maintenance to ensure optimal system functionality and reliability.
  • Facilitate the migration of applications, data, and services to Azure and Microsoft 365, minimizing downtime and ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, participating in meetings and providing regular progress updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field desired.
  • Proven experience in Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 administration and support.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, and business drivers.
  • Expertise in PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Ideal Candidate:

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in information technology

· 7 years of hands-on Azure engineering experience

· 5 years administering Microsoft 365

· Demonstrated experience with PowerShell scripting in real-world environments

· Experience supporting federal or regulated environments desired

· Proven track record of conducting migrations to Azure or Microsoft 365

· Experience collaborating with security teams

Preferred Qualifications

· Azure certifications (such as AZ-104, AZ-305)

· Microsoft 365 certifications (MS-100/101 or equivalent)

· Experience in hybrid environments (Azure AD / Entra ID synchronization)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $130, $135,000.00 per year
