YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Energy and Infrastructure Supervisor, you will be part of the Energy and Infrastructure Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

• Complete work in accordance with standards, operating procedures and safety practices.
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs on electrical equipment and record results and findings.
• Test equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
• Read and interpret drawings, diagrams and blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Install, examine, replace and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Maintain, repair and test electrical systems and equipment such as power distribution.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in process equipment including motors and VFDs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Red Seal certified electrician, electrical journeyman or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience as an electrician.
• Clear understanding of lockouts and high voltage switching.
• Driver’s license Class 5 or equivalent.
• Physical requirements for performing the job.
• Good work ethics, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Note that the official working language at Hope Bay is English.

Your Work Schedule

• Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
