Posi on Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Planning Engineer to join our leadership team and play a pivotal
role in growing our por olio of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. This role
requires a blend of technical exper se and business development acumen. The successful candidate will
be responsible for leading complex infrastructure projects, providing technical mentorship to junior
engineers, and leveraging their industry network to expand Agile Infrastructure’s client base.
As a Senior Infrastructure Planning Engineer, you will work closely with senior management to develop
strategic plans, grow rela onships with clients, and drive business development ini a ves. You will also
provide guidance on technical solu ons for projects, ensuring they are completed on me, on budget,
and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibili es:
Lead Infrastructure Projects: Oversee the planning, design, and execu on of water, wastewater,
and stormwater infrastructure projects from concep on to comple on. Ensure projects are
technically sound, meet regulatory requirements, and adhere to melines and budgets.
Client Rela onship Management: Build and maintain strong rela onships with exis ng and
poten al clients, including municipali es, private developers, and contractors. Understand client
needs and work proac vely to iden fy new opportuni es.
Business Development: Lead efforts to grow the company’s por olio by iden fying new
business opportuni es, preparing proposals, and nego a ng contracts. Ac vely par cipate in
industry networking, conferences, and seminars to enhance business visibility.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to junior engineers and team
members. Review designs, calcula ons, and technical reports to ensure high-quality
deliverables. Mentor and guide the professional development of the engineering team.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic business
plans, including market expansion, client acquisi on, and service offering diversifica on.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all projects are designed and executed in
compliance with local, provincial, and federal regula ons. Iden fy and mi gate risks to project
success, including environmental, financial, and opera onal risks.
Proposal Development: Lead or contribute to the prepara on of technical proposals, bids, and
presenta ons for new projects. Work with the marke ng and business development teams to
create compelling project proposals.
Financial Management: Manage project budgets and ensure that projects are completed within
budgetary constraints. Monitor financial performance and contribute to the profitability of
projects.
Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and
regula ons in water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. Apply innova ve approaches to
improve the effec veness and sustainability of infrastructure solu ons.
Qualifica ons & Skills:
Educa on: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in infrastructure planning, design, and project management,
with a strong focus on water, wastewater, or stormwater systems.
Professional Designa on: P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) designa on in Ontario.
Proven Business Development Ability: A demonstrated track record of successfully growing a
client base and increasing business revenue. Experience in preparing proposals, leading
nego a ons, and driving the business development process.
Technical Exper se: Advanced proficiency in hydraulic modeling (e.g., InfoWater, PCSWMM,
WaterGEMS, InfoWorks), AutoCAD, and GIS so ware. Strong technical knowledge of water,
wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure systems, including opera ons and preferably design
and construc on.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading teams, mentoring junior engineers, and
managing mul ple projects simultaneously. Ability to inspire and mo vate team members.
Client-Focused: Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to build las ng rela onships,
understand client needs, and deliver high-quality, tailored solu ons.
Communica on Skills: Excep onal wri en and verbal communica on skills. Ability to prepare
and deliver presenta ons, technical reports, and proposals clearly and effec vely to clients,
stakeholders, and internal te
