Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to perform MIG welding in a clean, well-organized manufacturing shop that produces both custom job shop work and some repetitive products. You will weld mild steel components using jigs and fixtures, contributing to high-quality fabricated assemblies in a supportive, laid-back team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on mild steel components according to job specifications and quality standards.
  • Load parts onto jigs and fixtures and weld them together to create finished assemblies.
  • Work on a mix of custom job shop projects and some repetitive production work for manufactured equipment such as farm crop sprayers.
  • Use a tape measure and other measuring devices to verify dimensions and ensure accurate fit-up of parts.
  • Follow work instructions, shop drawings, and any provided layouts; blueprint reading is beneficial when applicable.
  • Inspect welds and finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work area, including weld stations and surrounding shop space.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about job status, issues, and requirements.
  • Adhere to all shop safety procedures and guidelines while working around weld stations, assembly areas, and CNC machinery.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a positive, team-oriented attitude in daily work.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG welding on mild steel.
  • Ability to use a tape measure and other measuring devices accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality welds and precise assemblies.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform basic fabrication tasks in support of welding operations.
  • Blueprint reading ability is a plus but not required for this role.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that includes weld stations, assembly stations, and large laser CNC machinery. The noise level is moderate and typical of a fabrication shop. The shop is kept clean, tidy, and well-organized to support safe and efficient work. The facility does not have climate control, so temperatures vary with the weather, and employees should be comfortable working in changing seasonal conditions. The role is on first shift, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with two paid 15-minute breaks (morning and afternoon) and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lititz, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
