Support Security (Shift Security Officer)

Job Purpose

Hindalco Alupuram Works is an aluminium extrusion manufacturing unit with casting, extrusion, downstream processing facilities, warehouses, administrative buildings, contractor work zones, residential colonies, and guest houses spread across a vast campus. The plant operates in a continuous manufacturing environment with high-value assets, critical utilities, and significant movement of employees, contractors, materials, and vehicles on a 24×7 basis. The Security Staff plays a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s men, materials, machinery, and property in an environment that involves hot working processes, heavy equipment, and strict safety and statutory requirements. The location has a diverse workforce comprising permanent employees, contract workmen, migrant labour, vendors, and visitors, which requires strict access control, vigilance, and documentation at all entry and exit points. Given the strong trade union presence, high level of workforce awareness, and proximity to residential and public areas, maintaining a peaceful, disciplined, and incident-free industrial relations climate is essential. Security staff must therefore act with firmness, fairness, and professionalism while dealing with employees, contractors, unions, and visitors. The job demands continuous monitoring of material movement, vehicle logistics, scrap disposal, and finished goods dispatch, as any lapse can lead to financial loss, safety risks, or compliance issues. Security personnel are also expected to support emergency preparedness, including fire incidents, medical emergencies, natural calamities, and external threats, in close coordination with the Factory Management, Safety Department, and local authorities such as Police and Fire Services.The role requires working in shifts, often under pressure, and demands high levels of alertness, integrity, discipline, and adherence to Hindalco’s safety and security policies.
