Job Description
The Purchasing Coordinator supports the purchasing and supply chain team in the procurement of production and non-production materials required to support manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for coordinating purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring delivery schedules, and ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers as well as cross-functional teams including production, planning, logistics, quality, and finance.
This is a full time, direct hire position, 100 Onsite work setting.
Purchasing Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
- Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders for production and operational materials
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery schedules, and order status
- Monitor supplier performance and follow up on late deliveries to avoid production disruptions
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier data within ERP systems
- Support cost control initiatives by tracking pricing updates and identifying cost reduction opportunities
- Coordinate with production planning and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability
- Assist with supplier sourcing activities including market research and supplier qualification support
- Resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, pricing, or deliveries
- Track and report key purchasing metrics including on-time delivery and order accuracy
- Maintain documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing and supply chain function
- Assist with other purchasing or administrative tasks as required

Purchasing Coordinator Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain functions is considered an asset
- Diploma or degree in supply chain management, purchasing, business administration, or a related field preferred
- Strong research abilities with a service-oriented approach when supporting internal stakeholders and suppliers
- High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail when managing purchasing documentation and data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience working with ERP systems such as Plex or SAP is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external suppliers
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical capabilities with the ability to follow through on tasks
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with tight production deadlines
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and respond quickly to supply chain challenges
