The Finance Manager provides strategic and financial support for programs aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. Responsible for comprehensive financial oversight, including budget development, forecasting, financial modeling, and grant accounting activities. Identifies and evaluates program financial performance, ensures fiscal accountability, and identifies efficiencies. Collaborates with management to streamline financial and operational processes and implement procedures that support the business unit or department.

Responsibilities

Provides management and oversight of business operations for AARP Foundation programs including financial, IT, systems development and implementation, business processes and compliance, and data reporting systems and procedures.

Ensures all contractual requirements, audit and reporting requirements, federal regulations, and AARP Foundation policies and directives are implemented.

Uses and analyzes data to recommend program and process improvements and to measure outcomes.

Works with program management to support stakeholders, including volunteers, participants, and partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with at least 6-8 years of experience, ideally in a nonprofit receiving federal awards, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient in federal grant budgeting and financial management.

Experience recommending and drafting grant budgets

MBA, CPA, or equivalent.

Experience in financial planning & analysis and organizational financial modeling.

Proven experience developing and implementing processes compliance with federal regulation requirements.

Hybrid Work Environment

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
