Java Developer III w/Top Secret Clearance A3 Consulting LLC is looking to hire a Java Developer III for our government client. The experienced Java Developer will be responsible for leading a team of other java developers on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex Java-based applications. In this job you will:

Design and develop high-performance, scalable, and secure Java applications.

Architect solutions for complex business problems using Java and related technologies.

Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on the development team.

Resolve complex problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

Optimize performance of applications through tuning, caching, and efficient algorithms.

Act as team lead on projects.

Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and security best practices.

Participate in development of software user manuals.

Stay current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and integrate them into development processes.

Qualifications for the role:

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum seven (7) years of experience as a java developer.

Demonstrated understanding of system development life cycle; software project management approaches; and requirements, design, and test techniques.

Experienced in DevOps best practices.

Familiarity container platforms for custom built application (Docker, OpenShift, etc.).

Modern front-end web programming techniques (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, ES6, Event-driven APIs (e.g., event mesh) and libraries (e.g., Vue).

Proficient in Alfresco API.

Strong knowledge of Java coding standard and best practices, design patterns, and code optimization techniques.

Experience with Java IDEs (e.g., Eclipse, JetBrains, IntelliJ, NetBeans).

Experience creating external modules and packages.

Experience with at least one of the common Java build tools (Ant, Maven, Gradle – familiarity with all of these is a plus).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write technical documentation.

Security Clearance:

Active Top Secret or the ability to obtain an interim Top Secret

Salary range:

The salary range of this position is $150,000 - $165,000 commensurate with experience and achievement.
