The Role

We are looking for a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 4 to 8 years of experience to join us as a Financial Controller specializing in Revenue Recognition and ASC 606. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the primary technical authority for our revenue accounting, ensuring absolute compliance with US GAAP standards. You will bridge the gap between complex contract negotiations and financial integrity, managing everything from high-level technical research to hands-on month-end execution.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end revenue recognition process in strict compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP frameworks.
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of complex, multi-element customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue treatment and performance obligations.
  • Draft and maintain comprehensive technical accounting memos for non-standard revenue transactions and specialized deal structures.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities for revenue-related accounts, including deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.
  • Execute rigorous General Ledger (GL) management, ensuring accurate revenue recording and conducting monthly flux analysis to explain variances.
  • Strengthen the internal control environment by designing and implementing SOX-compliant controls over the revenue cycle and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk teams to provide upfront advisory on the accounting impact of commercial contract terms.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external and internal auditors, managing the preparation of schedules and resolving complex technical queries.
  • Drive process improvement and automation projects within the ERP (Oracle, NetSuite, or SAP) to streamline revenue workflows and reporting efficiency.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of revenue sub-ledgers to the general ledger and ensure the integrity of financial data across all systems.
  • Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards, ensuring the organization remains ahead of regulatory updates.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership regarding revenue trends, forecasting accuracy, and controllership risks.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA.
  • Experience: 4 to 8 years of post-qualification experience in Revenue Accounting or Controllership (Big 4 experience is a plus).
  • Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606)
  • Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) and revenue automation tools (e.g., RevPro, Zuora).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical abilities, eye for detail, and the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
