Your work will support the worldwide shift towards cleaner and more efficient energy systems, aligning with ICF’s mission to “build a resilient and prosperous world for all.” ⸻ Key Responsibilities Research: Collate information related to power markets and convert it to actionable knowledge especially for modelling. Build & Simulate Models: Create and improvise energy market models especially for SCED and power flow analytics. Analyze and generate market usable insights from the modelling Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and energy experts, to design practical solutions. Translate Insights: Convert complex insights into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders. ⸻ Qualifications A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Energy Systems, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research or a related field. Programming skills in Python, R, Julia or similar languages is a must. Exposure to PyPSA or similar tools for power systems modelling strongly preferred Good understanding of optimization framework and exposure to tools such as Pyomo and solvers such as HiGHS, Gurobi etc is highly preferred Understanding of Power Markets is a strong plus. Knowledge of US power markets is an added bonus but not necessary. Machine learning skills are a plus but not necessary. ⸻ What We’re Looking For Masters level experience with building and simulating power systems models. Strong research aptitude to collate and infer information. Sharp analytical skills that can turn data into actionable insights. A creative approach to solving challenges using AI.
