Freelance Email & SMS Marketer (with an eye for detail)

Overview

We’re a Toronto-based clothing brand focused on making well-crafted pieces that are meant to be worn often, lived in, and kept for years.

We’re looking for someone to work with us on an ongoing basis - helping shape and execute our email and SMS communication, along with occasional updates to the website.

This is not high-volume, disposable marketing. We care about tone, timing, and creating something that feels considered.

What the role involves:

Email

• Writing and building 4 emails per week
• Keeping a consistent voice across campaigns
• Designing simple, thoughtful layouts
• Segmenting and scheduling sends with care

SMS

• Writing 3-4 messages per week
• Understanding restraint - what’s worth saying, and what isn’t
• Aligning with broader campaigns

Website (light work)

• Updating homepage elements, product pages, and campaign details
• Making small, precise changes within Shopify

What we’re looking for:

• Experience working with ecommerce brands (ideally apparel or similar)
• Strong writing ability - clear, natural, and not overly sales-driven
• A good sense of design and proportion
• Someone who notices details and takes pride in getting things right
• Reliable and easy to communicate with

Nice to have

• Experience with Shopify and Privy or Klaviyo (our email and SMS platform)
• An understanding of retention marketing
• A feel for brands that value longevity over trends

Hours & structure:

• Ongoing work, roughly 4-6 hours per week
• Hourly
• Flexible schedule, but consistent communication is important
