We are currently hiring a Finance Analyst Intern to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team based in our Head Office in Burnaby, reporting to the Assistant Manager, Finance. As a Finance Analyst Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting financial analysis, reporting, and business decision-making across BCAA. Working closely with Senior Financial Analysts and Finance leaders, you will contribute to key FP&A activities including budgeting support, variance analysis, and performance insights. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is passionate about finance, enjoys working with data, and is eager to develop their analytical and business partnering skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Interested in turning data into meaningful insights and recommendations. What you’ll do: Partner with Senior Financial Analysts to interpret financial data and support business decision-making. Perform financial and strategic analysis including actual-to-budget comparisons, KPI analysis, and trend analysis. Extract, analyze, and interpret data using financial systems and tools. Present insights and findings clearly through written and verbal communication. Support data validation and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of financial information. Assist with ongoing process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives, including the use of AI where appropriate. Collaborate with Accounting, Finance Operations, and other teams to gain exposure to end-to-end finance processes. Support ad hoc analysis, reporting, and project work as required. What you bring: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Exposure or interest in finance or accounting, through coursework or practical experience. Interest in financial modelling, analysis, and data-driven storytelling. Experience with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, with exposure to Word and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative. Bonus Skills: Exposure to financial analysis tools or reporting platforms. Experience working with large data sets or building presentations. Demonstrated interest in identifying opportunities for process improvement and using automation or AI-enabled tools to drive efficiency and innovation. The hourly rate for this position is $25.70/hr ($46,768.44) to $32.12/hr ($58,460.52) and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. Please note that this is a temporary contract up to 4-months. This role is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days).
