Job Title: Data Loss Prevention Analyst

Responsibilities
- Support DLP operations by triaging and analyzing alerts across various channels, including email, endpoint, and cloud platforms.
- Validate alerts, distinguish between true positives and false positives, and escalate as necessary to prevent potential data loss incidents.
- Investigate data loss incidents by reviewing user behavior, data types, and business justifications, documenting findings accurately in case management systems.
- Assist in responding to confirmed data loss events, coordinating with internal stakeholders and identifying patterns or behaviors that contribute to risks.
- Recommend improvements to rules, controls, and user behaviors to mitigate future risks based on incident analysis.
- Partner with business units and risk teams to map data flows, translating business activities into potential data loss scenarios.
- Identify opportunities for tuning controls, exclusions, or enhancements aligned with legitimate workflows, and support initiatives to adapt DLP coverage to evolving processes and tools.
- Contribute to DLP-related projects, including rule tuning, process documentation, and metrics tracking, supporting operational improvements and automation efforts.
- Engage with security, risk, and governance teams, providing clear communication tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection, fraud, risk, or a related analytical role.
- Experience analyzing alerts, incidents, or case-based workflows.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with DLP tools or security monitoring platforms (preferred).
- Familiarity with sensitive data types and data classification concepts (preferred).
- Experience with SIEM, SOAR, or case management systems (preferred).
- Basic understanding of business process mapping or workflow analysis (desired).
