Join Sherbourne as a part-time Mental Health Counselor providing vital support to 2SLGBTQ community members and newcomers. This role focuses on holistic assessment, treatment planning, and client advocacy. As a key member of the Mental Health and Integrated Health Services Team, you will serve individuals facing a range of mental health and substance use issues.
Your expertise will aid marginalized populations, including newcomers, immigrants, and those experiencing homelessness. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to harm reduction are crucial for this position. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct holistic assessments for clients’ mental health
- Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans
- Monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed
- Offer counseling services via Brief Therapy and Psychotherapy
- Advocate for clients in accessing community resources Requirements:
- Master’s level education in social science or health
- Registration with relevant professional college
- At least 3 years as a therapist or counselor
- Experience with marginalized populations
