Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage financial records, maintain accurate accounts, and support day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, invoices, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain financial transactions in accounting software
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and deposits
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reports
  • Maintain general ledger and financial records
  • Prepare financial reports, summaries, and spreadsheets
  • Monitor cash flow and budgeting activities
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing deadlines
  • Support accountants during audits and month-end/year-end closing
  • Organize and maintain financial documents and records
  • Work and manage other team members in accounting office

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field
  • Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills

  • Payroll experience
  • Knowledge of tax preparation and remittances
  • Experience with financial reporting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Familiarity with Canadian accounting practices and HST/GST filing
  • Skills in Native Status for HST/GST filing

Work Environment

  • Full-time
  • In-office
  • Typical business hours Monday to Friday
  • 42.5 hours/week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
