Technical Sales Engineer | Load Banks (portfolio lead)
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid – minimum 3 days in office)

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and growing provider of electrical power solutions, is seeking a Technical Sales Leader / Regional Sales Manager to take ownership of a critical product line: Load Banks.
This role has high strategic importance within the organization, with direct impact on revenue growth and market expansion. You will serve as the go-to expert and commercial lead for load banks, while gradually expanding your exposure across a broader portfolio of power products.
The Role
This is a hands-on, technically driven sales position combining business development, application engineering, and customer engagement. You will work closely with engineers, consultants, and procurement teams to deliver tailored technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all technical sales activities related to load banks across the region
- Develop and manage relationships with key customers including data centres, hospitals, utilities, industrial facilities, and energy operators
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and bid responses
- Engage directly with clients on specifications including:
- kW ratings, voltage classes
- Resistive vs. reactive load requirements
- Commissioning and testing procedures
- Applicable CSA / IEEE standards
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets
- Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure accurate and competitive solutions
- Support ongoing product development, standardization, and go-to-market strategies
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 5–15 years of experience in technical sales within power equipment or electrical infrastructure
- Proven track record of selling into industrial, commercial, or institutional markets
Technical Expertise:
- Direct experience with load banks, OR strong exposure to adjacent products such as:
- Generators (diesel/natural gas)
- UPS systems / critical power solutions
- Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Power rental / testing equipment
- Strong understanding of power systems fundamentals and ability to engage technical stakeholders
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to develop detailed technical proposals and quotations
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Commercial acumen with a solution-oriented mindset
- Self-driven, ownership mentality with the ability to operate independently
