Job Description
- We are seeking a dynamic professional to design and implement field experiments and demonstration plots comparing traditional farming practices with improved nitrogen management approaches.
- The role involves leading and evaluating field demonstrations, ensuring scientific rigor, and documenting outcomes for scaling.
- The candidate will collect, manage, and validate primary and secondary data, applying tools like GIS, R, Python, and Excel for spatial and statistical analysis.
- Responsibilities include interpreting results to generate actionable insights for farmers, institutions, and policymakers.
- The position also requires designing and overseeing baseline, midline, and endline surveys to assess project impact. You will conduct farmer trainings on nitrogen use efficiency and Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices, while mentoring field teams for effective implementation.
- The role supports development of community “Climate Champions” and promotes sustainable agricultural solutions.
Additionally, you will contribute to technical reports, research publications, and policy briefs, and facilitate dissemination through workshops and stakeholder engagements.
- Strong coordination with research institutions, government bodies, and partners is essential.
- The candidate will manage project timelines and translate research into scalable, practical recommendations for advisory systems and policy integration.
Qualification
- Ph.D. in Agronomy / Soil Science or related agricultural disciplines.
Experience
- 5 to 8 Years working in Working knowledge of statistical analysis, data interpretation, and scientific report writing.
- Experience in farmer training, Farmer Field Schools and agricultural extension activities.
- Ability to conduct field research, analyse agronomic data and evaluate indicators.
- Experience in coordinating field teams and working closely with farming communities and local institutions.
