Operations Manager – Trucking

Location: Baltimore, MD

Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite

Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000 per year

Position Overview

A transportation company is hiring an Operations Manager to oversee daily trucking operations for a regional fleet. This role focuses on driver coordination, dispatch, and port-related freight movement. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in trucking operations and is comfortable managing day-to-day issues in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily dispatch and scheduling for a fleet of drivers
• Oversee container and regional freight movements
• Coordinate port appointments and equipment usage
• Troubleshoot delivery delays and operational issues
• Support driver performance, accountability, and retention
• Ensure safety and compliance standards are met

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in trucking or transportation operations
• Experience with drayage or port operations
• Previous responsibility for managing drivers (30+ preferred)
• Familiarity with dispatch systems, TMS, and ELD platforms
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay organized and calm under pressure
