Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Manager – Legal Department: Legal & Secretarial Location: Navi Mumbai Job Summary The Assistant Manager – Legal will be responsible for supporting the organization in effectively managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, and providing timely legal advisory to various business functions. The role encompasses contract lifecycle management, litigation and dispute support, regulatory and compliance oversight, and coordination with external legal counsel to safeguard the organization’s interests.
Key Responsibilities 1.
Contract
Management - Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including: Ø Vendor and supply agreements Ø Distribution and channel partner agreements Ø NDAs and confidentiality agreements Ø Service, consultancy, and technology agreements - Ensure contracts are aligned with applicable laws and internal policies
- Manage contract MIS, including repository, renewals, and compliance tracking 2.
Legal
Advisory - Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on commercial and operational matters
- Support business teams in structuring transactions with risk mitigation approach
- Assist management in strategic decision-making with legal inputs
- Support decision-making with risk assessments and legal insights 3. Litigation & Dispute Management - Coordinate with external legal counsel and monitor case progress
- Prepare case summaries, documentation, and legal briefs 4. Compliance & Regulatory - Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Support development and implementation of compliance frameworks
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on regulatory changes 5. Documentation & Record Keeping - Maintain and organize legal documentation, filings, and statutory records
- Ensure readiness for internal/external audits and due diligence processes 6.
Stakeholder
Coordination - Liaise with internal departments (Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, HR)
- Coordinate with external counsel, consultants, and regulatory authorities
- Support cross-functional and strategic projects requiring legal inputs Qualifications & Skills Education:
- LLB / LLM from a recognized university Experience: 3–6 years of experience in corporate legal roles (preferably healthcare/medtech/pharma) Skills:
- Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in medical devices / pharma / healthcare industry
