The Opportunity
We're hiring a full-stack Software Engineer to ship features, fix bugs, and grow into a senior IC on our team. You'll work directly with our Lead Engineer and our VP, Product. You'll write production code every day, own end-to-end delivery on real client features, and pair with senior engineers on the harder work.
You'll join a small team at a real inflection point: enterprise pilots running with named law firm clients, an AI-native engineering culture in active development, and a platform foundation being rebuilt from the data layer up. This role is for someone who wants to be in the middle of that — shipping, learning, leveling up — not someone who wants to coast on what they already know.
We're leveling this role to the candidate. ~3-5 years of professional experience is the target, and we'll go up or down for the right person.
What You'll Own
- Ship features end-to-end, frontend to backend — clean code, good tests, peer-reviewed PRs.
- Own bug-fix work across the platform. Help us reduce defect escape rate quarter over quarter and build the muscle memory of catching issues before they ship.
- Build the testing and tooling foundation of the team — Playwright suites, CI checks, the small tooling that compounds. We just stood up automated end-to-end testing; you'll be a key contributor to making it part of how we work.
- Pair with the Lead Engineer on harder architectural decisions and learn the stack at depth.
- Contribute to code review and raise the team's bar through your own work.
Required Experience
- ~5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally at a B2B SaaS company. Less experience with the right signal is welcome too.
- Strong in our full-stack — TypeScript, React, Node — or able to demonstrate quick fluency in equivalent stacks. We don't expect a 1:1 match; we expect that you can ramp.
- You write tests as part of writing code, not as an afterthought.
- You can talk us through your most recent meaningful piece of code in detail — what you built, what was tricky, what you'd do differently now.
- You use AI tooling daily — Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or equivalent — and have a point of view on what they're good for, where they fail, and how you verify output.
- You ask questions when you're stuck and flag risks early rather than working around them.
- You close loops. When you own something, the next step is clear without anyone chasing you.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a small team where contractors and FTEs ship side by side.
- Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS, identity systems (WorkOS, Okta), or HRIS integrations (Workday, UKG).
- Experience in HR tech, legal tech, or future-of-work environments.
- Open-source contributions, side projects, or any signal that you build things outside of work assignments.
How You Work
- You're a generous reviewer and a strong pair partner.
- You take ownership of quality — not just your code, but the user experience your code creates.
- You're hungry to learn but not afraid to push back when you disagree.
- You communicate directly — you ask the question rather than work around it.
- You have current code commits you're proud of, and you can talk us through them.
Why Keep Company
- A real inflection point — visible impact from day one, on a platform serving named enterprise clients.
- A genuine AI-native engineering culture, not a retrofitted one.
- Mentorship from a Principal-level Lead Engineer in a small, ship-focused team.
- A team that pairs, reviews, and ships together.
- Competitive salary, meaningful equity, medical/dental/vision, 401k, and flexible PTO.
- A mission-driven team building something we care about.
