SP3 Social Services Worker 3 – Regular/full‑time – Department of Families – Regional Social Services Northern, Community Services and Supports – Flin Flon MB, The Pas MB
Salary: SP3 $60,011.00 – $79,189.00 per year. Closing date: June 14, 2026.
Responsibilities
You have strong interpersonal communication skills, interacting with people with dignity, respect, objectivity, and a desire to actively listen and learn.
You are a great listener, articulate clearly, understand the importance of looking beyond the surface, and maintain flexibility in your approach and planning with participants and their families.
You collaborate with co‑workers and others to better meet participants’ needs and adapt to changes in workload, policies, and procedures.
You are comfortable with technology, using multiple computers and business programs.
Qualifications Essential
Post‑secondary education in the social services field (certificate, diploma, degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Experience working with individuals/families from diverse backgrounds who may face multiple barriers and challenges such as addictions, mental illness, disability and employment.
Ability to manage conflict calmly, assertively and respectfully.
Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to independently problem‑solve with empathy while ensuring legislation and policy are applied equitably.
Ability to set priorities, organize and exercise initiative in a fast‑paced environment with high‑volume caseloads and competing demands.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with participants, other programs and external resources.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desired
Case management experience in a social service setting.
Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in French (considered an asset but not required).
Conditions of Employment
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must have a valid full‑stage Class 5 driver’s licence and be able to travel within Manitoba.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on occasion.
Must maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
Must maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
