The Prince Albert Daily Herald is seeking a passionate journalist to work out of La Ronge, covering local stories from politics to culture. In this role, you will collaborate with the editor on story ideas, conduct interviews, and take compelling photographs. You’ll ensure your writing is accurate and engaging while meeting deadlines and assisting with layout as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and pitch engaging story ideas with the editor
• Conduct insightful interviews for deeper story context
• Capture impactful photographs to complement articles
• Write accurate and fair news stories under deadlines
• Assist with layout tasks when required

Requirements

• Willing to work evenings and weekends
• Post-secondary training in journalism or relevant experience
• Strong communication skills for public interactions
• Valid driver’s license and own a car
• Ability to live and work in La Ronge area
