Job Description
Come join our team! The Product Agronomist is responsible for generating, interpreting and applying agronomic insight to support seed product evaluation, advancement and life cycle management in Canada. Working in close partnership with the Product Life Cycle Manager, this role ensures that product performance, positioning and placement recommendations are grounded in high‑quality field data and local agronomic understanding.
The Product Agronomist works directly with Sales Agronomists, Technical Innovation Managers and Seed Product Development teams to transfer product knowledge to the field organization. This role supports strong, consistent execution of pre‑commercial evaluation, new product introductions and in‑market product stewardship to improve customer productivity and profitability.
Key Accountabilities
Product Evaluation, Advancement and Life Cycle Management
- Lead and support pre‑commercial product evaluation activities for the Pioneer brand and out-licensing partner seed products and associated technologies
- Collect, analyze and interpret field observations related to product performance across local environments
- Provide clear, unbiased performance assessments to support product advancement and commercialization decisions
- Coordinate area product evaluation trials in partnership with Seed Product Development teams (IMPACT or equivalent platforms)
- Serve as a technical liaison between district field sales teams and seed product development
- Represent district agronomic perspectives in product advancement reviews and discussions
Technical Product Training and Knowledge Transfer
- Develop and deliver product and agronomic training for Sales Agronomists and Territory Managers
- Support field understanding of product characteristics, placement guidance and agronomic management practices
- Translate technical trial results into practical, field‑ready product recommendations
- Ensure product learning is consistent, accurate and locally relevant across assigned geography
Sales and Commercial Support
- Lead annual Demand Planning process for assigned district teams, including product introductions, in‑market positioning, product life cycle decisions and demand planning inputs
- Partner with district teams to support the growth of commercial seed business with key customers and stakeholders
- Provide agronomic insight to support customer engagement, product positioning and issue resolution
- Support cross‑functional collaboration with Marketing, Product Management and Supply partners as needed
Individual and Team Accountability
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, managers and cross‑functional partners

- Maintain high standards for data quality, technical integrity and professional conduct
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy or a related field required
- Master’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Breeding or Digital Agriculture preferred
- Five to seven years of experience in agronomy, plant breeding or the seed industry
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate product performance and translate technical data into actionable field insights
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and influence field teams
- Must reside within the geography supported by the role
