Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Lead Hand plays a key role in supporting warehouse operations in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for coordinating and supporting warehouse team members on the afternoon shift while ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and safety standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support warehouse team members during order picking and truck loading activities for daily deliveries
- Communicate operational concerns, inventory discrepancies, or workflow issues to management
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve order-related or shipping issues
- Verify order accuracy prior to shipment and loading
- Assist with order picking, loading, unloading, and material handling activities as required
- Perform inventory cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives
- Provide hands-on operational coverage during team absences or peak periods
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Support general facility upkeep and preventative maintenance activities
- Load, unload, move, and store products manually or using material handling equipment
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and related tools
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory and storage areas
- Use computerized inventory systems to manage product movement and inventory records
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Ensure facility security procedures are followed at the end of shift
- Complete shift reports and related documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Customer service focused with a positive and professional attitude
- Comfortable using computers and inventory management systems
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and material handling tools
- Ability to lift up to 22 kg (50 lbs.) on a regular basis
- Comfortable working at heights, bending, crouching, kneeling, and performing physically demanding tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with inventory and order fulfillment processes
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
