Role Overview:
As an Accountant Costing at Caterpillar Inc, you will be part of the Analytics COE - Manufacturing Tower team based in Bangalore. Your role will involve providing financial and business support for the Manufacturing Tower of ACOE, offering counsel to management on Capital Management, Inventory Management, and manufacturing accounting support. You will be responsible for developing essential business information, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar's business practices, and resolving complex accounting issues independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist management in making decisions related to various projects and cost reduction programs
- Conduct cost analysis and determine root causes of variances
- Participate in business unit book closing and submission of reports to corporate and stakeholders
- Report inventory metrics to leadership accurately and timely
- Calculate and report Inventory aging as per CAT guidelines
- Review and analyze Balance Sheet, and perform reconciliation
- Provide accurate accounting for capital expenses in the Capital Management System
- Conduct financial analysis, compile accounting data, and advise internal customers on cost accuracy
- Utilize statistical tools for decision-making support
- Analyze P&L statement and balance sheet
- Support management in making costing decisions for projects and cost reduction programs
- Assist in estimating various forecast and budget scenarios based on changing business conditions
Qualifications Required:
- Certified accountant (CA/CMA) with a college degree in accounting
- 8-10 years of post-professional qualification experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong accounting background and knowledge of accounting flow and methods of recording in the General Ledger
- Proficiency in SAP environment (FI, MM, CO Module)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS-Office and Financial Analytics tools such as Power BI and Power Apps
- Ability to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office with shift timing from 01:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST
