The Trade Finance Product Team is a core contributor within Treasury & Payment Solutions (TPS), supporting our clients as they navigate global trade corridors and optimize working capital. The team delivers innovative solutions across traditional trade finance (Documentary and Standby Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Documentary Collections) and Supply Chain Finance, enabling secure, efficient, and scalable cross‑border commerce.
We are seeking a Product Manager, Trade & Supply Chain Solutions to lead the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of trade and supply chain finance products. This role is ideal for an experienced product professional with strong domain expertise in trade finance, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to collaborate across sales, technology, risk, and operations to deliver differentiated client solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
- Define and execute product strategies and roadmaps aligned with client needs, market trends, and business objectives.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for individual products or product suites, from ideation to launch, enhancement, and sustainment.
- Identify product opportunities, gaps, and enhancements through market research, customer feedback, and performance analysis.
- Develop and maintain product documentation, templates, requirements, and policies, ensuring consistency with systems and operational capabilities.
Market, Client & Competitive Insights
- Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and pricing analysis to inform product positioning and differentiation.
- Analyze customer insights, sales feedback, and channel data to translate needs into clear product requirements.
- Partner with sales teams to support deal structuring, client onboarding, and solution presentations.
- Develop business cases, assessing ROI, growth potential, cost, and risk implications.
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor key product performance, growth, and profitability metrics, identifying trends and recommending action plans.
- Design and produce regular and ad-hoc dashboards and management reports to support decision-making.
- Track system and operational performance, diagnosing issues and driving resolution.
- Apply data-driven analysis to evaluate strategic initiatives and product performance.
Risk, Control & Governance
- Identify existing and emerging credit, operational, legal, and regulatory risks related to product development and management.
- Ensure products operate in compliance with credit policies, risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Support audits, attestations, and regulatory reporting.
- Resolve higher-risk or complex client escalations and policy exceptions, collaborating with credit, risk, and legal teams as required.
Delivery, Enablement & Change Management
- Partner with Technology, Operations, Risk, and Legal to design, implement, and launch product enhancements.
- Support vendor relationships, including implementation, maintenance, and ongoing performance of vendor solutions.
- Lead or contribute to the design and optimization of core business processes.
- Develop sales training materials and manage change initiatives to support adoption and sustainable execution.
- Leverage technology, data, and AI to enhance product discovery, design, delivery, and client experience.
Qualifications
Experience & Domain Expertise
- 5–7+ years of experience in Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Treasury, or Banking Product Management.
- Strong knowledge of international trade practices and financial transactions, including LC, guarantee, and supply chain finance structures.
- Proven experience managing products within complex regulatory and risk frameworks.
Product & Analytical Skills
- Strong foundation in product design, pricing, functionality, and lifecycle management.
- Advanced experience building business cases, conducting market research, and translating insights into execution.
- Strong analytics and reporting capabilities with a demonstrated ability to use data to inform decisions.
- Solid understanding of credit, operational risk, and product delivery infrastructure.
Collaboration & Influence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior executives, sales leaders, and external partners.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills across a matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and align diverse stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; post‑graduate degree preferred.
- Trade finance or treasury-related professional training considered an asset.

$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
