Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at an academic medical center in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active DC RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a multidisciplinary ICU at an academic hospital setting in Washington, DC
- Patient population includes neurological, neuro-surgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
- Technology utilized includes ventilators, ventriculostomies, cardiac monitors, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, continuous pulse oximetry, CRRT, gastric tubes, and IV infusion pumps
- Charting in Cerner EMR
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts per week with AM/PM rotation
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Active US SSN required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a US hospital required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA-issued only)
- CPI certification required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
- Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides a variety of patient care functions and tasks in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements
- Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent employees may not be eligible
