We are excited to announce an immediate opening for a Business Contracts Manager to join our dynamic AWS World Wide Public Sector team, focusing on US Federal Civilian customers. This position will be based in Arlington, VA. As a key contributor, you will leverage your full contract life cycle expertise to drive strategic business development and pipeline enablement in your assigned portfolio. Your role will encompass maintaining contractual opportunities, developing contract policies, procedures, operating practices, and performance standards for various federal programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contract Lifecycle Management & Risk Mitigation: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including document review, negotiation, compliance, and maintenance of contract records. You will identify and address contract risks and support competitive proposal processes.
- Strategic Business Development & Pipeline Enablement: Shape opportunities during the acquisition lifecycle by educating customers on how to effectively utilize AWS services. Your insight will help in crafting contractual pathways that meet complex government requirements, ultimately generating new revenue opportunities.
- Contract Vehicle Ownership: Act as the face of assigned contract vehicles, developing repeatable onboarding solutions and fostering innovative contract structures that promote growth while educating agencies on procurement pathways.
- Customer Relationship Ownership & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government authorities like Contracting Officers, CIOs, COTRs, and budget holders, providing expert guidance to sales and proposal teams regarding cloud contracting models and acquisition regulations.
- Technical Solution Design & Compliance: Acquire depth of knowledge across AWS cloud services and government compliance frameworks. Architect tailored contract solutions and government-specific pricing programs that meet compliance standards.
- Process Improvement & Go-to-Market Execution: Innovate towards developing tools and automation that enhance contracting efficiencies. Act as the voice of the customer in collaboration with product and engineering teams to refine Go-to-Market strategies.
This role demands strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, and a desire to improve global processes by effectively coordinating between sales, operations, and legal teams.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of contracts management experience with US Government Contracts
- Strong knowledge of Public Sector Procurement laws, regulations and procedures, including FAR and various contract types
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal terms for a variety of enterprise technology contracts
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication abilities
- Proficient analytical and computer skills
- Experience with SharePoint, SalesForce, or contract management systems
